renovations, maintenance and improvement. (The building is expected to be formally acquired in June, 2010. There
are a number of renovations, maintenance and improvement projects that will need volunteers for work days beginning this

MONTHLY MEETING EXCERPTS: The Chapter has officially acquired the Bartlow IH Prototype Dealership
building in July 2010. The initial down payment has been paid and a 10 year mortgage was also signed. The Chapter
had voted in 2008 to proceed with the purchase of the 1947 IH prototype building and grounds, including
the expanded lot. The building was the home of the Bartlow IH dealership in Millville, Pa.. Mr. Bartlow and
his son had very graciously offered the building and grounds to Chapter 17. This prototype building has not
had any significant changes to it, except for maintenance, since its construction in 1947. It is thought to
be the only unmodified IH prototype dealership building still remaining in the original family ownership. About
2,000 visitors toured it during the 2007 Red Power Roundup at Bloomsburg, Pa.. Now that the building and grounds
have been acquired by Chapter 17, it will become a not-for-profit museum housing IH memorabilia appropriate
for the building. The Chapter has begun soliciting donations to pay for the annual mortgage payments and
to preserve and maintain this outstanding historic site. The Chapter has obtained its 501(c)(3)
not-for-profit designation from the federal government. We are now able to accept tax deductible gifts
to the full extent allowed by the IRS. The Chapter's registration with the Commonwealth as a non-profit corporation
has been updated and approved. The Chapter committed $85,000+ from its treasury and the Building Fund as the
down payment to the Bartlows which was approximately 1/2 of the purchase price. The planning committee met
with a (free) professional fund raising consultant and received guidance concerning development of a fund raising
campaign. An outline of a three phase fundraising campaign has been prepared and distributed to members of
the Board of Directors and is available to any members wishing a copy. The Development Committee expects
to meet regularly now that the campaign is under way to monitor progress. The 2007 RPRU Souvenir Book is now available and
a copy can be purchased at the chapter's next meeting for $22.00 -or- can be
ordered via mail for $25.00 which includes shipping and packing. Only 1,000 copies have been printed so get your
order in soon. It was announced
that our chapter president, Ben Trapani has been elected to the Presidency of the national IHCC for 2010.

The Bartlows' auction on October 18, 2008 at the Bartlow
IH prototype building in Millville was successful in selling their collection of tractors, equipment and IH memorabilia.
The sale prices of the memorabilia varied widely, but in general was considered to be about what was expected. The tractors
and equipment for the most part sold well below what had been hoped for. The antique Ford A and T's brought about expected
value while other vehicles sold somewhat under what had been hoped for. Chapter 17 members helped greatly in setting
up the materials and in the actual auction. The auction began at 9:30 AM and went almost to dusk due to the huge
amount of memorabilia items sold. The Chapter was successful in purchasing a substantial amount of memorabilia for future
inclusion in the museum.
